Stephen Ardern
Steve is responsible for developing long term relationships with Uniform's client partnerships. He oversees all business development activity and manages key client relationships across the agency with the client services team. He is a big believer in harnessing the value of creative thinking and design in a commercial context, having worked both agency and client side. He has been responsible for developing C-level relationships across a range of sectors including manufacturing, food and drink, consumer goods, retail, and sport and his clients have included brands such as, Microsoft, Kraft Foods, Warburtons, Astra Zeneca, Glen Dimplex, Bacardi, and The Football Association. Steve graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2000 with a degree in Graphic Design.

Nick Howe

Founder & Managing Director

Nick Howe
Nick graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 1998 with a degree in Product Design and Marketing. Two weeks later he founded Uniform. As a founding partner and Managing Director, he has shaped the company from its beginnings as a three man multidisciplinary studio, to a leading creative agency working with a roster of global brand clients. Nick leads the agency, defining its ambitious growth strategy and overseeing its day-to-day operations. In running the business Nick takes a role in ensuring the company is balanced in meeting its commercial, creative and growth objectives. His background in product design gives him a breadth of knowledge to adapt and change the business, and manage the diverse challenges running an agency brings. Nick is involved in the wider design community being heavily involved in the DBA, and has previously sat on the D&AD and LJMU Design Academy advisory committees. Nick is also a founder of Designival, the North’s biggest festival of creativity.

Ken Dixon

Director of Strategy

Ken Dixon
Ken is responsible for overseeing strategy across the business and heads up the London office. He is a passionate believer in the benefits of multidisciplinary working and the power of design to challenge convention, open minds and unlock potential. Ken has over 25 years experience in research, design and communication, and has developed strategies for clients including Eurostar, The Guardian, Kellogg’s, ABinBev, HBOS and The Scottish Government in the UK; and Hutchison Whampoa Ltd, San Miguel, Orange, GlaxoSmithKline and American Express in Hong Kong. He founded Scotland’s most creatively awarded agency, sat on the IPA’s value of creativity group and is a former Chair of the IPA in Scotland. Ken gained a first class degree in Product Design at Staffordshire University before going on to study at the RCA in London.

Erika Shorter

Research & Insight Manager

Erika Shorter
Erika has 5 years' experience as a writer, researcher, editor and insight journalist. Her ability to plan, conduct and draw insight from an array of research methods, including workshops and hackathons, ensures an energetic, future-led approach to strategy. She has previously worked with Canongate Books, the University of Dundee, the DCA (Dundee Contemporary Arts) and the Design Council, and frequently collaborates with artists, designers, makers and thinkers on a range of creative projects and publications. Erika graduated from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a degree in English Literature and Journalism and from the University of Dundee in 2011 with an MLITT.

Nick Bentley

Founder & Creative Director - Visualisation

Nick Bentley
Nick is a co-founder of Uniform and is a key point of contact for all clients in the property and architecture sector. He works closely with clients to deliver award winning and effective work. Nick’s background lies in architectural visualisation production and he now leads the visualisation team. He balances creativity with a deep technical knowledge of the visualisation process. He holds a wealth of experience, leading teams on many significant, large scale CG film and image projects across the globe from Qatar to Russia. Nick has spoken about creativity and visualisation at conferences around the globe, and his team has won many awards including the CG Architect and Escape awards. Nick gained a first class degree in Product Design & Visual Studies from Liverpool John Moore’s University in 1999.

Mark Lee

Associate Creative Director

Mark Lee
Mark has a wealth of experience and has been with Uniform since shortly after he graduated slowly rising through the ranks to become Associate Creative Director. He leads and delivers high budget animations and multi-image CG projects. His in-depth knowledge of the architectural visualisation process ensures smooth client communication and consistent quality. Mark is also experienced at leading teams of artists on large-scale projects. His previous experience includes working in post-production on factual and documentary programmes for the BBC. Mark is a regular contributor to 3D World, 3D Artist and Creative Bloq, where he writes numerous tutorials on the cutting edge techniques used at Uniform. Mark graduated from the University of Teesside in 2005 with a degree in Computer Animation.

Toni Buzolic

Toni Buzolic
Toni leads the creative approach for all visualisation projects at Uniform. He is responsible for understanding client briefs, devising the best creative strategy and overseeing the development of work in order to deliver the best product possible. He has experience working with world leading architects and design consultants on high-end luxury interiors, public realm and competition images. He has worked closely with clients on a variety of global and London schemes for MAKE, Foster + Partners, SOM, KPF, Knight Dragon and CIT. Toni studied Electronics at University of Split in Croatia and worked across a variety of freelance visualisation projects relocating to the Uk to join Uniform in 2012.

Rob Deja

Senior CG Artist

Rob Deja
Rob is a senior artist at Uniform and has been with the company since 2005. Rob is heavily involved in high end production and works closely with our R&D and innovation teams. Regularly beta testing software for developers, he brings new techniques and a deep technical understanding to projects. Rob has recently worked on projects for clients including Allies + Morrison, Westfield and KPF. Rob will work closely with the team on the project leading many of the technical elements of the project. Rob studied Architectural Technology and Digital Innovation at the University of Derby graduating in 2005.

James Pickford
A still image specialist, James is one of our lead CG artists. He is passionate about CGI and architecture, he is an expert in post production and finishes many of Uniforms high profile images. James thrives on attention to detail and realism within the images which he produces. James has been voted CG Architect Visualisation Pro of the week on a number of occasions and his work is regularly featured in 3D World. James graduated from the Nottingham Trent University in 2007 with a BA (Hons) degree in Product Design.

Andrew Wraithmell

Andrew Wraithmell
Andy is a senior artist at Uniform working across a wide range of projects. Andy works on all aspects of projects from modelling through to detailed texturing and lighting of scenes and final post production. Andy is the main point of contact on many client projects and works closely with the team, leading projects and supporting and mentoring junior team members. Andy graduated from the Nottingham Trent University in 2009 with a BA (Hons) degree in Product Design.

Adam Taylor
Adam graduated in 2011 from De Montfort University with a 2:1 in media production. Adam joined Uniform as a graduate and has gradually progressed to a middleweight artist. He has a wide range of CGI and post production skills and works across both stills and animation projects.

Jonathan Formento
Jonathan studied product design at Blumenau University and moved from Brazil to join our team as a CG artist. Jonathan is an excellent 3D generalist with advanced 3DS Max, V-Ray and Photoshop skills. His expertise lies particularly with interiors and he is a passionate photographer.

Antonio Miele
Prior to joining Uniform Antonio studied Architecture in Italy where he was exposed to a wide range of specialisms within the industry, with a specific focus on underwater archaeological restoration. In 2008 he graduated from the architectural visualisation course at the State of the Art Academy in Venice. His work has been selected for key industry publications such as Evermotion and he has been awarded CG Architect Visualisation of the week.

Alexandru Ciubotaru
Alex joined Uniform in 2014 as a CG Artist and works across a full range of projects within the architectural visualisation team with clients such as Foster + Partners, SOM, Westfield, Knight Dragon and Make. Before joining Uniform Alex spent 7 years working as an architect in Romania working across a wide range of projects in housing, offices, hotels and healthcare. Alex graduated from The Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” Iasi, Romania with a degree in Architecture / Urban Planning, Restorations and Interior Design in 2008 and later, in 2014 gained a masters degree in Architectural Visualisation with 3ds Max and V-Ray at the ‘FX Animation Barcelona 3D School’ Barcelona, Spain.

Tim Sharp

Tim Sharp
Tim leads the creative and strategic direction of all branding and design projects. With significant experience at award winning design agencies, including seven years in Scotland, he has worked with clients such as Baxters Foods, New Balance, Glasgow Rangers FC, The FA, Bacardi and Scotland The Brand. Tim is committed to generating commercial results for clients through exceptional creative execution. He leads the team on a range of brand and design projects, focussing on the development of brand identity systems and campaigns. He believes in creating a simple, strategic approach with a clear tone of voice, strong narrative and visual coherency, and has been responsible for developing Uniforms creative approach to brand projects and the development of a range of bespoke design methods. Tim has been a visiting lecturer on design courses at both Chester University and LJMU, and on judging panels for the Roses Student Awards. Tim graduated from Derby University with a degree in Graphic Design.

Neil Sheakey
Neil has over 10 years experience in design and brand for print and digital clients. Working with Uniform’s Creative Director Tim Sharp, Neil leads the team across a wide range of projects in key sectors, such as property and place, sport and retail and consumer goods. Passionate about delivering against Uniforms creative approach, he believes in strong ideas that tell a compelling story, expertly crafted through visual execution. His experience with brands including Belling, Stoves, The FA, Liverpool FC, Peel and Linn has given him a broad perspective of design and branding as an integral strategic service for delivering commercial results for clients. Graduating from the University of Derby in 2004 with a degree in Graphic Design, Neil continues to be involved in education, working closely with the Graphic Design programme at LJMU School of Art and Design.

Pete Blake
Pete is an award winning designer with a background in packaging, branding and illustration. As a senior creative on the brand team, Pete is our ideas junkie, never far from his trusty sketchpad and sharpie pen. His recent work includes branding the Royal Liverpool Hospital, designing Team GB's commemorative coin for the Rio 2016 Olympics, and extensive placemaking work with Peel on their Wirral Waters development. Pete also leads Digest, our bi-monthly programme of talks that keeps the studio informed and inspired.

Timea’s work stems from her background in computer science and graphic design, often making use of her creative coding skills and tech knowledge to craft well-rounded solutions. Timea works across a variety of brand and design projects at Uniform including work for clients such as Oxford Playhouse, Evoke and R Charity. Timea graduated from Coventry University in 2015 with a degree in Illustration and Graphics.

Having collaborated with a range of artists, illustrators and makers he thrives on pushing the quality and craft in every projects. His experience lies across a broad range of sectors including property, arts, leisure, music and non-profit with his work featured in the likes of Creative Review, Creative Bloq and Design Week. And he is driven by a desire to create positive impact through design and regularly develops and hosts projects with public good at the heart. He graduated from Chester University in 2010 with a degree in Advertising and Media.

Kylee Beencke
Kylee is a Senior Artworker. With over 15 years industry experience she’s responsible for taking artwork forward from the design stage into final production - efficiently, accurately and on time. Kylee’s wide-ranging skills-set - honed from a diverse background in pre-press, print production, graphic design and visual art - ensures that Uniform's high quality of work and best working practices are upheld. Having arrived from Sydney in 2006, she established herself as a designer at Liverpool FC. From 2012 Kylee freelanced as a creative artworker for a variety of agencies and businesses across the Northwest, whilst painting commissioned artworks. Kylee works alongside numerous teams within the studio providing support on a range of projects and is involved in mentoring junior team members.

When John joined Uniform, he brought with him global experiences both personally and professionally, having worked in leading agencies in London and Los Angeles, as well as a six month stint travelling through Asia and South America. Born in Liverpool, he finally returned home in 2013, where he has since worked with clients such as Unilever, Wembley Stadium and Glen Dimplex. John graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a first class honours degree and has had his work featured in several internationally renowned publications.

Valerie has nearly 20 years experience in digital development, including a Masters in Digital Publishing. She is a specialist in digital strategy, user experience and project delivery with extensive experience leading accounts for national/ global advertising agencies, as well operating as an independent consultant for agencies and businesses. Her client experience spans a vast array of sectors. She has also worked client-side for Bank of America leading the EMEA user experience and web design team. Recent work includes delivering major websites for The British Council and The Christie NHS Trust & Christie Charity.

David Challener
David is the Technical Lead across all Uniform digital projects. He is a former Chief Technology Officer at one of the UK’s leading interactive digital content providers. During his 10 years in the industry, David developed a pioneering second screen platform for Channel 4’s award winning investigative current affairs programme Dispatches, a live digital content platform for Fox Soccer and the US restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings and a live content platform for Britain’s biggest bar chain, Wetherspoons. He has worked with a wide range of clients including Diageo and Newcastle United. David has extensive experience developing Customer Relationship Management software for clients. He has led and trained the development of management teams with products and technologies of the Microsoft Stack, and has experience in Cloud hosting solutions, including Amazon Web Service and Rackspace as well as open source, MongoDB. David is a certified Umbraco developer.

With over 9 years experience in web development, Ollie has expertise in a wide array of programming techniques and has a pragmatic approach to development informed by best-practice. His work to date has included projects for clients such as Future Cities Catapult, Mitre, Lake District World Heritage Bid, Wirral Waters and GDHA. Outside of the office he is a keen musician, has a passion for politics and is interested in finding ways to use new technologies to better peoples lives. Ollie Graduated from John Moores University, Liverpool in 2008 with a degree in Computer Science.

Michael Biggs
Michael works across a variety of projects at Uniform contributing to Umbraco and Windows solutions and has 5 years experience in web & mobile development. He has in-depth knowledge of the Umbraco process which ensures high quality web solutions and advanced features. His previous experience includes working in handheld devices & web development for Yodel and working with numerous small businesses for Web Solutions. Michael graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2013 with a degree in Computer Technology.

Laurie Jones
Laurie leads the creative and strategic direction of film projects within Uniform. Creative Director since 2004, Laurie heads the film team and works regularly on key clients such as Shop Direct and Unilever. His varied background in CG, traditional animation and live action film projects allows him to take the appropriate creative approach for every brief, and is not wedded to any particular technique or ‘house style’. Laurie’s work has included global internal communications projects for Unilever, TVC’s for Very.co.uk and Viners, idents and stings for Bacardi, and large scale animated sequences for The FA at Wembley. Laurie graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Furniture & Product Design in 2000.

Charlie Pastor
Charlie is a Senior Creative at Uniform responsible for film and animation production. His highly creative role involves generating concept ideas and style guides for many projects, leading art direction and styling, and seeing this through to the final moving image output. Charlie has a wealth of industry experience, and has been with Uniform since 2006. He is an expert in After Effects and Photoshop, an accomplished photographer/director, and regularly directs crews on shoots, and the team in the studio. Charlie graduated from Newport University in 2006 with a degree in Multimedia.

Ben Potts
Ben is a Senior Creative in the Uniform film team. He is a highly experienced creative and combines a deep knowledge of 2D and 3D effects with film and sound design. Ben has worked within the film and TV industry on many broadcast commercials for clients including ITV, Sony and the NHS. Ben leads much of the live action work we produce and manages numerous studio, aerial and green screen shoots. He graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2010 with a degree in Interactive Media Design.

András Ferenczy
András began his career working as an illustrator and designer and quickly became interested in traditional animation techniques. After more than five years in various freelance roles covering a wide range of animation, motion design and illustration he joined the team at Uniform. He is interested in storytelling and expressive visuals, hand-drawn illustration and printmaking, and is constantly developing his skillset, bringing new techniques and practices to the team. András graduated in 2009 from University of Arts and Design, Cluj Napoca in Romania with a degree in Illustration and Printmaking.

Mike Shorter

Mike Shorter
Mike has over 8 years experience as a Product Designer, University lecturer and researcher. He is at home playing with new digital technologies and has in-depth knowledge of design methods, idea generation, workshop facilitation, prototyping techniques, sensors, paper circuitry and internet connected objects. Mike has worked with partners such as NASA, Penguin Random House and Mozilla and co-founded the design publication Fieldguide in 2012. He regularly publishes journal articles, conference papers and book sections and presents his work worldwide: from London Design Festival to Unbox Festival in India. Mike graduated from the University of Dundee in 2007 with a first class degree in Product Design and is currently completing a PhD in prototyping for emergent technologies.

Leonardo Amico

Leonardo Amico
Leonardo is a Creative Technologist involved in the ideation, design and development of digital experiences, with a focus on connected products and interactive installations. His work spans both commercial and research projects, and a balance of real-world applications and exploration of speculative scenarios and emerging technologies. He’s an active member of international collaborative design research platform Hacking Households and his work has been exhibited across a number of festivals and museums including V&A in London, Salone del Mobile in Milan, Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, Adhocracy in Athens. Leonardo is an interaction design alumni of communication research center Fabrica and MSc Electronics Engineering graduate at the University of Padova.

Rebecca Benson
Rebecca leads the Client Services team at Uniform with a remit to ensure our clients receive an exceptional level of service, and is responsible for developing strong working relationships with our clients. Rebecca has 15 years experience working within the creative industry, having graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Graphic Arts and Design. She started her career as a Designer before moving into Client Services. Before joining Uniform, she worked as a Senior Account Manager, taking responsibility for her previous agencies largest account in the property sector and managing a team of four account managers. Rebecca has experience in a variety of sectors, including law, automotive and leisure & tourism, and has worked with both public and private sector clients. Previous clients include Redrow Homes, Unilever, Radisson, Weightmans, Williams Group and the Department of Health.

Caroline Whittaker

Caroline works as a Client Director across a variety of accounts with a special focus on branding.  Her clients span all sectors from The FA and Linn to The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital Trust, Medela and Peel Holdings.

She has over 15 years experience working previously in Manchester at a number of agencies where she specialized in branding projects including innovation and new product launches for Diageo and directing integrated brand campaigns for the likes of Baileys, Nike and Sony PlayStation.

Caroline graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in Screen Studies.

Joanna Rowlands
Joanna is an experienced marketing and communications professional with broad knowledge of the public sector and agency experience. Before joining Uniform she was Marketing Services Director at Liverpool agency Liquid, where she was responsible for planning campaigns, writing marketing strategies and managing PR, social media and film projects. She was previously Director of Marketing & Communications at the National Museums Liverpool (NML), where she oversaw a rebrand of the organisation and its eight venues. She has a BA in History of Art and Architecture from the University of East Anglia and an MA in Museums Studies from Newcastle University and a CIPR diploma.

Bryn Jones

Bryn is a Senior Client Manager predominantly working on architectural visualisation projects. Responsible for the smooth running of all projects across the team, he looks after much of the day-to-day running of key client accounts including Westfield and a number of high profile architectural practices including Foster + Partners and SOM.

Bryn has a varied background working in the arts and culture sector, having previously worked at National Museums Liverpool, and has a long track record of project management both internally and externally with public and private sector organisations.

Bryn graduated from Edinburgh University with an Architectural History degree.

Lucy Johnston

Lucy works as a Client Manager across a variety of major accounts for Uniform which include architectural visualisation, branding and digital work. Her clients range from luxury property developers including Stanhope, Mount Anvil and Hamilton Bradshaw to internationally acclaimed architecture practices like Kohn Pederson Fox Associates and MAKE architects.

Prior to Uniform, Lucy held several project management positions within the arts sector. She worked as Gallery Manager for a private contemporary art gallery and worked on the curatorial team for the Liverpool Biennial, where she delivered a number of ambitious public realm commissions.

Lucy graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a History of Art and Museum Studies degree.

Kirsten Roberts

Kirsten works across a variety of accounts and projects at Uniform. Her role sees her managing a range of film, digital and branding projects for clients such as Unilever, Oxford Playhouse, Shop Direct Group and GDHA.

In her previous role Kirsten worked across sectors for a variety of clients including Redrow Homes, Weightmans, Unilever and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

Thomas Martin
Tom works across a wide range of brand and digital focussed accounts. He graduated from the University of Chester in 2013 with a first class degree in Advertising and has experience in design, production and client services. Following University Tom’s first role was for a global agency in Manchester, working on nationwide events for a leading UK retailer, as well as brands such as Stella Artois, JTI and Cadburys. Tom returned to his native Liverpool to join Uniform in the summer of 2015.

Scott McCubbin
Scott is a former broadsheet business journalist. He supports a wide range of projects from a marketing and PR perspective, developing PR campaign strategies and managing media relations. Scott also oversees all of Uniform’s PR, securing PR coverage in international press including BBC Worldwide, Wall Street Journal, Fast Co magazine, Wired, Ad Week and Marketing Magazine. Scott’s background is steeped in marketing and business journalism. He spent a decade as a business and marketing journalist and editor, writing for The Sunday Times, The Observer and Scotland on Sunday and editing marketing magazine The Drum and entrepreneur title EN. Scott was also managing editor of the North West Development Agency’s business magazine, 315, overseeing a team of designers, writers, editors, and photographers. Scott graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in Politics.

Luke works as part of our business development team with a focus on the sport sector. His role sees him working with brands to create long term strategic relationships. Michelle Ford
Michelle is responsible for the operational management of the studio and for ensuring every project runs to schedule and budget. She looks after the day-to-day running of the studio, managing traffic for both internal and external staff and liaising with suppliers, ensuring high standards are met and production quality is maintained. Michelle has over 15 years experience of managing creative campaigns, and has worked with clients such as Unilever, Carlsberg, Liverpool Vision, Manchester United FC and Britannia Building Society. Michelle graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in English and Communications.

Natalie Loughran
Natalie is responsible for the day to day financial management of the agency. She works closely with the Managing Director and the Head of Operations. She has worked for Uniform since 2008, and has over 15 years experience in a variety of finance roles in both the public and private sector, having worked for Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts and the NHS. Natalie studied Business and Finance and has both ICB and AAT qualifications.

Liz Dale
Liz is the glue between client managers, creatives and the operations team, ensuring deadlines are met, projects are efficient and delivered to the highest standard. Liz has over 10 years experience of managing teams and clients in the creative industry. Formerly graphic designer and studio manager in a North Wales based agency, working for clients such as The Royal Parks Foundation, The National Trust and The Royal Albert Hall. Outside of Uniform Liz uses her competitive spirit on the netball court and will try her hand at any sport or competition! Liz graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Graphic Art and Design.

Nicola Orme
Nicola is responsible for the smooth running of the studio, having previously worked in hospitality for ten years managing front of house teams for Crowne Plaza, Indigo and Hilton hotels. She graduated in 2013 from LJMU with a degree in Leisure and Hospitality Management.
