As the cost of education increases, in turn, so do the expectations of those attending university and never before have student places been so fought for. Less selective institutions have had to bear the brunt of the decline in school leaver numbers and are struggling to compete.  

But the fightback has begun and the University of Cumbria is taking a proactive stance in attracting talent to the region. And, treating people as individuals, not numbers.
